Basketball Recap: Nandua Takes a Loss

Nandua was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their sixth straight loss. They were dealt a 94-40 defeat at the hands of Pocomoke. Nandua was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 51-21.

Despite the loss, Nandua saw an underclassman step up: sophomore DaQuais Harmon en route to 17 points. Harmon continues to improve, besting his previous point total in each of the last three games he's played. Another player making a difference was Amari Scarborough, who posted nine points.

Pocomoke's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was MALACHI BONNEVILLE, who on his way to 15 points in addition to seven boards and four steals. BONNEVILLE is also on a roll when it comes to shooting accuracy, as he's posted one of at least 46% in the last four games he's played. DESHOUR PRITCHETT was another key player, to rack up 18 points along with seven rebounds and three steals.

Nandua's defeat dropped their record down to 6-12. As for Pocomoke, their record now sits at 6-13.

Nandua wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next matchup, a 52-50 loss against Chincoteague on the 17th. As for Pocomoke, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, an 80-70 win against Washington on the 18th.
