It may have taken overtime to finish the job, but The Liberty Eagles ultimately got the result they hoped for on Friday. They managed a 35-29 win over James Wood. The win was just what Liberty needed coming off of a 49-21 defeat in their prior contest.
Austin Mawyer was his usual excellent self, throwing for 424 yards and four touchdowns while picking up 12.1 yards per attempt. Mawyer hasn't dropped below three passing touchdowns for three straight games.
Liberty's victory bumped their record up to 5-5. As for James Wood, they now have a losing record at 4-5.
Liberty does not have any more games scheduled as of now. James Wood will head out on the road to face off against Millbrook at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
