The Canton Warriors will head out on the road to square off against the Northwest Catholic Lions at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. Northwest Catholic took a loss in their last contest and will be looking to turn the tables on Canton, who comes in off a win.
Canton lost a heartbreaker the last time they played Northwestern Regional, but it's fair to say they got their revenge given the result of Friday's game. The Warriors never let the Highlanders get on the board and left with an 11-0 win on Friday. The high-flying hitting performance was a huge turnaround for the Warriors considering their one-run performance the match before.
Oden Berg was a major factor while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he didn't allow a single earned run over five innings pitched. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-high in strikeouts (three). He was also solid in the batter's box, going 3-for-4 with two runs and one RBI. He has become a key player for Canton: the team is 5-1 when he posts at least two runs, but 2-7 otherwise.

In other batting news, James Canny was a standout: he went 3-for-4 with three RBI, two runs, and one triple. Canton is undefeated when Canny posts three or more RBI, but 4-8 otherwise. The team also got some help courtesy of Ethan Lindquist, who went 3-for-4 with three runs and one stolen base.
Canton always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .516. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Northwestern Regional only posted an OBP of .250.
Meanwhile, Northwest Catholic was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their fourth straight defeat. They were a single run away from ending the streak, but they lost a 1-0 heartbreaker at the hands of Wethersfield.
Jonah Balcerzak spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered only one earned run on two hits and racked up eight Ks. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than two hits in four consecutive appearances.
On the hitting side, Northwest Catholic saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Will Vincent, who went 1-for-3 with one double.
Canton is on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 7-8 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 7.3 runs over those games. As for Northwest Catholic, their loss dropped their record down to 6-10.
