Basketball Recap: Rock Hill Piles Up the Points Against Northwestern

Rock Hill won the last time they faced Northwestern and things went their way on Tuesday too. The Rock Hill Bearcats really took it to the Northwestern Trojans for the full four quarters, racking up a 55-19 victory. The Bearcats have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won seven matchups by 25 points or more this season.

Rock Hill got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Emine Hollis out in front who posted 13 points and three steals. Aubrey Stevenson was another key player, dropping a double-double on 12 points and ten assists.

Rock Hill was working as a unit and finished the game with 13 assists. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Northwestern only posted three assists.

Northwestern lost despite a true team effort on offense, the best among them being Autumn Linen, who put up eight points. What's more, Linen also racked up four boards, the most she's had since back in January of 2024.

Rock Hill has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five games, which provided a nice bump to their 12-5 record this season. As for Northwestern, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-10.

Rock Hill has already played their next contest, a 43-21 victory against Catawba Ridge on the 17th. As for Northwestern, they will head out on the road to square off against Indian Land at 6:15 p.m. on January 21st. Northwestern is facing Indian Land at the right time seeing as Indian Land is stuck on an eight-game losing streak.
