The Vina Red Devils's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Monday after their fourth straight loss. They received a tough blow as they fell 51-33 to Waterloo. Vina lost against Waterloo in their previous head to head back in November, too, but the margin this time around was much wider than the 62-50 score last time.
When it comes to explaining why Vina lost, one person who can't be blamed is Sara Harper. Despite the final result, she scored ten points along with eight rebounds and five assists. Harper is absolutely dominating the steal category: she's posted at least two every time she's taken the court this season. Kaley Attaway was another key contributor, scoring nine points along with seven rebounds.
Vina has not been sharp recently, as they've lost seven of their last eight matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-8 record this season. As for Waterloo, their victory was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 7-5.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Vina will challenge Tremont at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Tremont is coming into the contest on a four-game losing streak. As for Waterloo, they will head out on the road to face off against Athens Bible at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Athens Bible is coming into the matchup hot, having won their last seven games.
