The Palm Bay Pirates will look to defend their home court on Thursday against the Centennial Eagles at 7:00 p.m. Palm Bay will be looking to keep their 14-game home win streak alive.
Palm Bay can now show off nine landslide victories after their most recent game on Monday. They took their contest at home with ease, bagging a 54-20 victory over Cocoa. Given Palm Bay's advantage in MaxPreps' Florida basketball rankings (they are ranked 17th, while Cocoa is ranked 156th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Palm Bay got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Jaida Civil out in front who scored 12 points along with eight rebounds and three steals. Kiara Williams was another key contributor, scoring eight points along with nine rebounds and two steals.
Meanwhile, Centennial pushed their score all the way to 56 on Saturday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They fell 68-56 to Central. Centennial has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Palm Bay has been performing well recently as they've won 13 of their last 16 matches, which provided a nice bump to their 16-6 record this season. As for Centennial, their defeat ended an eight-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 10-7.
Everything came up roses for Palm Bay against Centennial in their previous meeting back in November of 2021 as the team secured a 55-10 win. Does Palm Bay have another victory up their sleeve, or will Centennial turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
