The Vail Christian Saints's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Saturday after their eighth straight loss. They took a serious blow against Plateau Valley, falling 74-11. The defeat unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Vail Christian in their matchups with the Cowboys: they've now lost seven in a row.
Eva Soto was Vail Christian's leading scorer, having posted six points.
Plateau Valley got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Meloni Miller out in front who scored 12 points along with seven rebounds and two steals. Miller is crushing the steal category: she's posted at least two every time she's taken the court this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Emaline Ealey, who scored 15 points along with five rebounds and three steals.
Vail Christian's loss dropped their record down to 1-8. As for Plateau Valley, they pushed their record up to 9-2 with that win, which was their seventh straight at home dating back to last season.
Vail Christian will head out on the road to square off against the Rams at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Hopefully Soroco focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 25 on Saturday. As for Plateau Valley, they will be playing in front of their home fans against the Panthers at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Rangely is also coming in off of a big victory, so somebody is in for a big reversal of fortune.
