Basketball Recap: Pine Lake Prep Comes Up Short

Pine Lake Prep played a tough matchup on Monday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They had to suffer through a 64-35 loss at the hands of the Community School of Davidson Spartans. The Pride haven't had much luck with the Spartans recently, as the team has come up short the last nine times they've met.

Pine Lake Prep's defeat shouldn't obscure the performances of Avery Garrett, who posted ten points, and Tabitha Schmedes, who scored ten points. That's the most points Schmedes has posted since back in November of 2024.

Regan Downey was her usual excellent self, going 8-for-15 to rack up 20 points and seven rebounds for Community School of Davidson. Ella Tomko was another key player, putting up three points and four steals.

Pine Lake Prep's loss dropped their record down to 6-18. As for Community School of Davidson, they are on a roll lately: they've won 11 of their last 13 games. That's provided a nice bump to their 17-7 record this season.

Pine Lake Prep does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Community School of Davidson, they wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 54-45 defeat against Christ the King on the 18th.
