Last Tuesday, ITW David Speer Academy didn't have too much trouble with the Masai Lions at home as they won 49-31. ITW David Speer Academy pushed the score to 44-18 by the end of the third, a deficit the Masai Lions cut but never quite recovered from.
ITW David Speer Academy's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Miabella Collazo, who scored 13 points along with six steals and five blocks. Collazo hasn't dropped below two steals for five straight games. Another player making a difference was Yarilyn Figueroa, who scored 16 points along with two steals.
Meanwhile, Johnson can now show off eight landslide victories after their most recent contest on Tuesday. They took their match at home with ease, bagging a 51-18 win over The Noble Academy. The win was familiar territory for Johnson who now have three in a row.
Johnson got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Destiny Taylor out in front who dropped a double-double on 23 points and 13 rebounds. That makes it eight consecutive games in which Taylor has scored at least a third of Johnson's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Le'Andra Hill, who dropped a double-double on 14 points and ten rebounds.
The win makes it two in a row for ITW David Speer Academy and bumps their season record up to 12-3. As for Johnson, their victory bumped their record up to 11-9.
ITW David Speer Academy came up short against the Pumas when the teams last played back in January, falling 47-39. Can ITW David Speer Academy avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
