The Bishop's Knights are taking a road trip to take on the Coastal Academy Stingrays at 3:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Bishop's will be looking to extend their current six-game winning streak.
Bishop's had to skate by with only a two-run margin when they last took the field, which might have inspired the 17-run drubbing they dealt Santa Fe Christian last Friday. The Knights were the clear victors by a 21-4 margin over the Eagles. Considering the Knights have won eight matchups by more than five runs this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.
Bella Bravo made a big impact no matter where she played. She didn't allow a single earned run over five innings pitched. Bravo was even better at the plate, getting on base in all five of her plate appearances with four runs, three RBI, and one triple. That triple marked the first that she has hit this season.
In other batting news, Jessica Yao was a standout: she went 4-for-5 with one home run, four runs, and four RBI. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in March of 2025. The team also got some help courtesy of Sydney Mafong, who got on base in four of her five plate appearances with four runs, five RBI, and one double.
Bishop's was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .500. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .387 or higher in four consecutive contests.
Meanwhile, Coastal Academy came up short against Foothills Christian on Friday and fell 12-8. The Stingrays have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Aubrey Price was cooking despite her team's loss, going 3-for-4 with one home run. Another player making a difference was Harlee Palmer, who went a perfect 4-for-4 with two RBI, one run, and one double.
Coastal Academy's loss dropped their record down to 5-10. As for Bishop's, their record is now 9-3.
Coastal Academy's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Bishop's has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .516. It's a different story for Coastal Academy, though, as they've only averaged .364. Will they be able to contain Bishop's hitters?
Bishop's couldn't quite finish off Coastal Academy in their previous matchup back in May of 2025 and fell 4-2. Can the Knights avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
