5A Special District 2 recap October 22, 2013
Adding to the longest winning streak in 5A Special District 2 this week, Roosevelt beat Jefferson 36-7. This was the team's seventh consecutive win.
Cleveland fell to Ridgeview 43-0 last week, the largest margin of any game.
Keondre Collier was the best receiver in the league this week as Roosevelt topped the Democrats. Collier racked up 3 receptions for 75 yards. Brandon Redeau helped Roosevelt's passing attack out by catching 2 balls for 60 yards.
Leading the league in both passing and receiving yards, Christian Swain's team's Kimane Domena and James Schell-Buchanan have proven to be a lethal combination. 6-2 quarterback Domena has thrown for 1,294 yards this season, while Schell-Buchanan has 30 catches for 645 yards. Tyler Lunceford from Wilson leads the league in rushing with 1,311 yards.
The Roughriders' Domena needs only 90 yards against Redmond next week to surpass 1,000 rushing yards for the season. Domena has rushed for 910 yards on 97 carries so far this year.
As it stands, the Trojans are in second, while the Warriors are in sixth.
