6A District 1 recap November 13, 2013
Adding to the longest winning streak in 6A District 1 this week, Union beat Ponca City 56-13. The victory was the eighth in a row for the Redskins.
Union took down the Wildcats 56-13 last week, the largest margin of any game.
Noah Jackson was a key player and the best on defense this week as Stillwater lost to Owasso. The 6-foot-3 junior grabbed 1 sack.
Slade Nordic had an awesome week catching the football as Bartlesville lost to Washington. He caught 10 passes for 278 yards.
Colton Penrod threw for 496 yards and 3 touchdowns. He was 24-51 with 1 interception.
Nordic was the best receiver in the league this week as the Bruins lost to the Hornets. Nordic tallied 10 receptions for 278 yards. Tully Schaffner helped Bartlesville's passing attack out by catching 3 balls for 75 yards.
Bartlesville's Penrod and Nordic led the league in both passing and receiving yards. 6-0 quarterback Penrod has thrown for 3,054 yards this season, while Nordic has 79 catches for 1,376 yards. Kirk Fridrich's team's TYLER ADKINS leads the league in rushing yards with 1,071.
Ponca City made the biggest jump in the national rankings this week, rising to 8,164 from 8,442. The improvement was the result of a 56-13 victory over Josh Allen's team last week.
