The Woodstock Academy Centaurs fought the good fight in their overtime matchup against the Windham Whippets on Wednesday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell to the Whippets 78-73. Woodstock Academy has struggled against Windham recently, as their matchup on Wednesday was their fourth consecutive lost matchup.
It was another big night for Malcolm Hunter , who scored 31 points along with nine assists and five rebounds for Windham. That's the first time this season that Hunter posted eight or more assists. The team also got some help courtesy of Anden Gonzalez , who scored 16 points along with eight rebounds and five steals.
Woodstock Academy now has a losing record at 3-4. As for Windham, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 4-2.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Woodstock Academy will face off against Plainfield at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. One thing working in Plainfield's favor is that they have posted big point totals in their last three matches. Windham is on the road again on Friday and play against Norwich Free Academy at 7:00 p.m. on January 5th. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Connecticut (Norwich Free Academy is ranked 66th, while Windham is ranked 80th).
