On Friday, The Cicero Prep Academy Centurions faced the Mogollon Mustangs in a battle between two of the state's top teams. Cicero Prep Academy received a tough blow as they fell 42-24 to Mogollon. Cicero Prep Academy has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Loss or not, Cicero Prep Academy got some senior leadership from David Yourkoski who picked up 234 receiving yards and two touchdowns and Luke Hodgson who threw for 382 yards and four touchdowns while picking up 17.4 yards per attempt. Yourkoski was no stranger to the big play, connecting with a big catch that went for 69 yards.
Kyson Owens went supernova for Mogollon, rushing for 203 yards and three touchdowns while picking up 11.3 yards per carry. The team also got some help courtesy of Alexis Suarez, who rushed for 135 yards and a touchdown while picking up 7.9 yards per carry.
Cicero Prep Academy's loss dropped their record down to 6-2. As for Mogollon, the victory (which was their fifth in a row) raised their record to 8-2.
Cicero Prep Academy does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Mogollon will take on Bagdad at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Bagdad is coming into the matchup hot, having won their last eight games.
