Even though the Chazy Eagles have not done well against the Seton Catholic Central Knights recently (they were 1-8 in their previous nine matchups), they didn't let the past get in their way on Wednesday. Chazy came out on top against Seton Catholic Central by a score of 40-31. The victory made it back-to-back wins for Chazy.
Chazy's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Emma Howell led the charge by scoring 13 points. Carly LaPierre was another key contributor, scoring ten points.
Seton Catholic Central lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Grace Trombley, who dropped a double-double on 11 points and ten rebounds. Trombley scored a full 35.5% of Seton Catholic Central's points, the fifth time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Emma Langlois, who scored ten points along with six steals.
Chazy's win bumped their record up to 4-2. As for Seton Catholic Central, they now have a losing record at 2-3.
Chazy will have some time to savor their victory since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Lake Placid at 6:30 p.m. on January 5, 2024. Seton Catholic Central will wrap up 2023 with a road trip to face off against Plattsburgh at 3:00 p.m. on December 29th.
