After flying high against the Spring Creek Gators last Friday, the North Duplin Rebels came back down to earth. North Duplin fell just short of Spring Creek by a score of 64-61. Having run the score up that high, both teams probably have some extra defensive drills coming up.
Despite the loss, North Duplin still got an impressive performance from Dujuan Armwood, who scored 28 points. The game was Armwood's eighth in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Treshawn Ruffin, who scored nine points along with seven rebounds.
North Duplin has not been sharp recently, as they've lost five of their last six matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-8 record this season. As for Spring Creek, their victory was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 5-6.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. North Duplin will square off against Neuse Charter at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Spring Creek, they will head out on the road to face off against North Johnston at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. North Johnston is coming into the matchup hot, having won their last three games.
