4A District 4 recap Oct. 9, 2012
Devonta Moffitt of Doss ran for the longest rushing play in 4A District 4 this season against Fairdale last week. Moffitt's team topped the Bulldogs as he sprinted for 85 yards on the play and finished with 156 in all.
Valley was the team that gained the most ground in the standings this week, jumping from fifth to second in the league. The Vikings vanquished Moore 41-7 earlier in the week.
Doss' offense has been unstoppable this season and the Dragons feature the season leaders in passing, rushing and receiving yards. Jerry Coleman has thrown for 436 yards and three touchdowns this season, while Dajzon Dukes has 23 catches for 303 yards. James Yarbrough leads the league in rushing with 829 yards.
A big matchup in 4A District 4 this week will be when Doss takes on the Mustangs. Lakunta Farmer's team is currently in first, while Moore is in fourth.
Valley took down Eric Dick's team 41-7 last week, the largest margin of any game.
