The Saxony Lutheran Crusaders can now show off eight landslide victories after their most recent contest on Monday. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat Poplar Bluff 72-41 at home. The win was just what Saxony Lutheran needed coming off of a 66-37 defeat in their prior match.
Rebecca Johnson continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines, scoring 26 points along with seven assists and three steals. She hasn't dropped below three steals for three straight games. The team also got some help courtesy of Annie Adams, who scored 12 points along with eight rebounds and three steals.
Saxony Lutheran is on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six contests, which provided a nice bump to their 14-6 record this season. As for Poplar Bluff, their defeat dropped their record down to 5-12.
Saxony Lutheran won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against the Tigers at 4:30 p.m. on February 6th. Festus will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Missouri Rankings (they are ranked 208th, while the Crusaders are ranked 103rd). As for Poplar Bluff, they will head out on the road to challenge the Green Wave at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.
