The Central Crossing Comets will venture away from home to square off against the Lincoln Lions at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. Central Crossing will be looking to extend their current five-game winning streak.
Central Crossing's pitching crew heads into the game hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Thursday. They put the hurt on New Albany with a sharp 10-0 victory.

Hayliee Roberts made a splash no matter where she played. On the mound, she kept things locked down with no earned runs or hits over four innings pitched. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in five consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 2-for-3. She also hit a double, marking her first of the season.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Lindsay Russell, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one triple. That triple marked the first that she hit this season. Dakota Unrue was another key player, going 2-for-3 with one stolen base and one RBI.
Central Crossing always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .654. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as New Albany only posted an OBP of .278.
Meanwhile, Lincoln gave up the first runs on Thursday, but they didn't let that get them down. They walked away with a 5-1 win over Westerville Central. The victory continues a trend for the Lions in their matchups with the Warhawks: they've now won seven in a row.
Grace Miller spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned run on four hits.
On the hitting side, Lincoln's win was truly a team effort as seven different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Gabby Esterby, who scored two runs while going 1-for-3. Another was Kira Bailey, who scored a run and stole a base while going 1-for-3.
Central Crossing's record now sits at 5-2. As for Lincoln, their record is now 5-3.
Friday's matchup will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Central Crossing hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .333. However, it's not like Lincoln struggles in that department as they've averaged .385. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Central Crossing skirted past Lincoln 7-6 in their previous meeting on Monday. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Comets since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
