It was a good run, but the Andalusia Bulldogs unfortunately witnessed the end of their 14-game winning streak dating back to last season on Friday. They took a 27-14 hit to the loss column at the hands of Montgomery Catholic. Andalusia was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Montgomery Catholic apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in November of 2022.
Although Andalusia took the loss, they still got scores from Landen Marshall and J'marion Burnette.
Caleb Mccreary was his usual excellent self, rushing for 123 yards and three touchdowns on only 13 carries, while also throwing for nine yards and a touchdown. Mccreary was no stranger to the big play, taking off on a dash that went for 52 yards. Josh Griffin also helped out as he racked up 140 rushing yards.
Andalusia's loss dropped their record down to 9-1. As for Montgomery Catholic, they have yet to lose a matchup at home this season, leaving them with a 10-0 record.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Andalusia will have plenty of time to ponder what went wrong as they've got a bye scheduled next week. After, they'll take on Sipsey Valley at 7:00 p.m. on November 11th. Sipsey Valley will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Alabama Rankings (they are ranked 175th, while Andalusia is ranked 43rd). After each having a week off, Montgomery Catholic and West Blocton will shake off the cobwebs and take on one another at 7:00 p.m. on November 10th. West Blocton knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with flashy point totals in its past four matches -- so hopefully Montgomery Catholic likes a good challenge.
