Kylee Hunt put forth a good effort for the losing side as she posted 12 points and four steals. She is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last four games she's played. Krisi Willis also deserves some recognition as she posted her first block of the season.
Meanwhile, Byron Nelson came tearing into Tuesday's contest with four straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 21.5 points) and they left with even more momentum. They claimed a resounding 67-31 win over the Trojans. Given the Bobcat's advantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 73rd, while the Trojans are ranked 538th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Timber Creek better keep an eye on Belle Ratliff. She was instrumental in Byron Nelson's win, dropping a double-double on 32 points and 15 rebounds. That's the most boards Ratliff has posted since back in December of 2024. Another player making a difference was Kinsey Morris, who scored eight points along with six assists and three steals.
Byron Nelson is on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven games, which provided a nice bump to their 19-8 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 61.3 points per game. As for Timber Creek, their defeat dropped their record down to 18-9.
Rebounding is likely to be a big factor in this contest: Timber Creek has been smashing the glass this season, having averaged 29.4 rebounds per game. However, it's not like Byron Nelson struggles in that department as they've been averaging 29 boards. With both teams battling to corral missed shots, we'll see if one team can grab an edge.
Timber Creek ended up a good deal behind Byron Nelson when the teams last played back in December of 2024, losing 57-43. A big factor in that loss was the dominant performance of Ratliff, who dropped a double-double on 16 points and 14 rebounds. Now that Timber Creek knows the damage she can cause, will they be able to stop her this time? Check MaxPreps.com after the match to find out.
