JW North hasn't had much luck against Valley View recently, but that could start to change on Wednesday. The Huskies will head out on the road to challenge the Eagles at 3:15 p.m. JW North is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 7.9 runs per game this season.
JW North is headed into the game having just posted their closest win since May 17, 2025 on Monday. They had just enough and edged out Ontario Christian 3-2.

Anela Kinnevey was a major factor while hitting and pitching. She struck out 11 batters over seven innings while giving up just two earned runs off seven hits. With that strong performance, she is now averaging an impressive 5.2 strikeouts per game. She was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-3 with two RBI and one double.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Lily Hiraoka, who went 2-for-4 with three stolen bases and two runs. Another player making a difference was Cece Rodriguez, who went 2-for-3 with one triple.
Meanwhile, Valley View waltzed into their matchup on Friday with two straight wins... but they left with three. They walked away with an 18-14 victory over the Bison.
Valley View gave Alexa Amezcua the start and clearly made the right call: she tossed five innings while giving up just two earned runs off three hits.
At the plate, Malia Garcia and Alyssa Torres did most of the damage at the plate: Garcia went a perfect 5-for-5 with one home run, seven RBI, and three runs, while Torres fired off two home runs, four runs, and five RBI while getting on base in five of her six plate appearances. Those five hits gave Garcia a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Destiny Mendoza, who went 3-for-5 with two RBI, one run, and one double.
Valley View always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .577. That was just more of the same: they've now posted an OBP of .553 or higher in three consecutive contests.
JW North's record now sits at 12-9. As for Valley View, their record is now 19-3.
Wednesday's game will be a test for both teams' pitchers. JW North hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .367. However, it's not like Valley View struggles in that department as they've averaged .378. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
JW North couldn't quite get it done against Valley View in their previous matchup back in March as they fell 4-1. Can the Huskies avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
