Medical Lake has gone a perfect 7-0 against Reardan recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Wednesday. The Cardinals will be playing at home against the Screaming Eagles at 4:30 p.m. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Medical Lake has three straight victories, Reardan has three straight defeats), but none of that matters once you're on the field.
Medical Lake's pitching crew heads into the match hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed last Friday. They put the hurt on Liberty with a sharp 21-0 win.
Zack Boyd and Aiden Fontenot made a splash while hitting and pitching. On the mound, Boyd struck out six batters over two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits (and not a single walk). Meanwhile, Fontenot struck out six batters over three innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Those six strikeouts gave Boyd a new career-high. At the plate, Boyd got on base in all four of his plate appearances with five RBI, two runs, and one triple, while Fontenot scored two runs and stole a base while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances.
In other batting news, Medical Lake got a massive performance out of Dylan Harris, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run, four RBI, and two runs. The team also got some help courtesy of Jordan Brickhouse, who scored three runs and stole a base while going 3-for-4.
Meanwhile, Reardan came up short against Northwest Christian School on Saturday, falling 19-5.
Reardan saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Hunter Flaa, who went 2-for-3 with two RBI and one double. Brady Angell was another, scoring a run while getting on base in two of his three plate appearances.
Medical Lake now has a winning record of 4-3. As for Reardan, their loss dropped their record down to an identical 4-3.
Medical Lake took their victory against Reardan in their previous meeting back in April of 2024 by a conclusive 15-4 score. Do the Cardinals have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Screaming Eagles turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
