The Southeast Alamance Stallions had already won four in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 14.8 points), and they went ahead and made it five on Tuesday. They walked away with a 76-65 win over Bartlett Yancey. Having run the score up that high, both teams might be doing some extra defensive drills very soon.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Southeast Alamance to victory, but perhaps none more so than Jerry Sims, who dropped a triple-double on 20 points, ten rebounds, and ten assists. Sims has been hot recently, having posted three or more steals the last 13 times he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Davian Edwards, who scored 25 points along with four steals.
Bartlett Yancey's defeat shouldn't obscure the performances of Matthew Sidney, who scored 23 points along with seven rebounds and six assists, and Tyler Newcomb who scored 28 points. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Newcomb has scored all season. Brock Ouzts was another key contributor, scoring four points along with five rebounds.
Southeast Alamance pushed their record up to 11-10 with that win, which was their third straight on the road. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 66.7 points per game. As for Bartlett Yancey, they are on a six-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 4-14.
Southeast Alamance will look to defend their home court on Friday against Seaforth at 8:00 p.m. Hopefully Southeast Alamance focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up seven on Tuesday. As for Bartlett Yancey, they will head out on the road to square off against Jordan-Matthews at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Bartlett Yancey has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games.
