After flying high against the Okemos Wolves last Friday, The Grand Ledge Comets came back down to earth. The contest between Grand Ledge and East Lansing wasn't particularly close, with Grand Ledge falling 35-21. It was the first time this season that Grand Ledge let down their fans at home.
Jace Clarizio was a one-man wrecking crew for East Lansing as he rushed for 299 yards and three touchdowns while picking up 13.0 yards per carry. Clarizio was no stranger to the big play, turning on the jets for a run that went for 55 yards.
Grand Ledge has traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost three of their last four games, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-3 record this season. As for East Lansing, the victory (which was their seventh in a row) raised their record to 7-2.
Grand Ledge will head out on the road to face off against Grand Blanc at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for East Lansing, they will be playing at home against Everett at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Everett will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Michigan Rankings (they are ranked 211th, while East Lansing is ranked 48th).
