Make it five blowout wins for the Nelson Island Islanders this season. They simply couldn't be stopped on Saturday as they easily beat Ayaprun 96-28 on the road. The matchup was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 53-17.
Nelson Island's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Brennan Lincoln led the charge by scoring 28 points. Lincoln has been hot recently, having posted 15 or more points the last five times he's played. Charles Maxie was another key contributor, scoring 18 points along with eight assists.
Nelson Island pushed their record up to 9-3 with that victory, which was their fourth straight on the road. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 79.8 points per game. As for Ayaprun, they still haven't won a game yet this season and fell to 0-2.
Nelson Island will look to defend their home court on Saturday against Chief Paul Memorial at 5:45 p.m. Chief Paul Memorial is currently enjoying a perfect season and no doubt want to keep things rolling. Ayaprun does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
