The Westover Patriots will be staying on the road  on Friday to face off against the Cairo Syrupmakers at 6:00  p.m.  on February 2nd. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.
 Westover's game  on Friday was all tied up 18-18 at the half, but sadly for them it didn't stay that way. They fell  46-38 to Bainbridge.
 Despite their  loss, Westover saw several players rise to the challenge and make noteworthy plays.  Jada Landers, who  scored ten points along with seven  rebounds and five  steals, was perhaps the best of all. The team also got some help courtesy of  Sydney Donaldson, who  scored ten points along with seven  rebounds and six  steals.
 Meanwhile, Cairo's recent rough patch got a bit rougher  on Friday after their tenth straight  loss. They had to suffer through a rough  87-14 loss at the hands of Hardaway. Cairo was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at  44-8.
 Like Westover, Cairo lost despite seeing results from several players.  Makhia Evers led the charge by  scoring five points along with seven  rebounds.
 Westover has  traveled a rocky road recently having  lost four of their last five matchups,  which put a noticeable dent in their 9-12 record this season. As for Cairo, their loss was  their 18th straight on the road dating back to last season, which  dropped their record down to 1-18.
This contest  is one where the number of possessions is likely to be a big factor:  Westover  have been smashing the glass this season,  having  averaged 31.4  rebounds per game. However, it's not like Cairo struggles in that department as   they've been averaging 30.9  rebounds per game. Given these competing strengths, it'll be interesting to see how their clash plays out.
 Everything came up roses for Westover against the Syrupmakers in their previous meeting  on January 12th as the  team secured a  66-35 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for Westover since the  squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
