Hays extended the longest winning streak in Western Athletic this week by beating Dodge City, 52-31. The win marks fifth in a row for the the Indians.
Hays took down the Demons 52-31 last week, the largest margin of any game.
Dodge City's dynamic duo of Newton Kelan and Doan Jordan proved tough for Ryan Cornelsen's team to stop, as they were the top passer and receiver in the league this week. Kelan threw for 314 yards and three touchdowns and Jordan had 94 yards receiving. Duckett Dakota helped Dodge City's passing attack out by catching eight balls for 92 yards.
Britton Abbott was the most productive running back in the league this week. In 17 carries, he ran for 103 yards as Liberal fell to the Indians.
Liberal's offense has been unstoppable this season and the Redskins feature the season leaders in passing, rushing and receiving yards. Abbott has thrown for 1588 yards and 13 touchdowns this season, while Trenton Hammond has 40 catches for 666 yards. Abbott also leads the league in rushing with 497 yards.
Garden City made the biggest jump in the national rankings this week, rising to 1,922 from 2,497. The improvement was the result of 34-13 victory over East last week.
