After three games on the road, Port St. Joe is heading back home. They and the Wewahitchka Gators will face off at 6:00 p.m. on February 6th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, the pair will really light up the scoreboard on Tuesday.
Last Friday, Port St. Joe was able to grind out a solid win over the Eagles, taking the game 62-52.
Port St. Joe's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Bj Cole led the charge by scoring seven points along with seven rebounds and six assists. Zay Jenkins was another key contributor, scoring 13 points along with five assists and three steals.
Meanwhile, it was a hard-fought match, but Wewahitchka had to settle for a 59-57 defeat against the Wildcats on Friday.
Port St. Joe is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four contests, which provided a massive bump to their 11-12 record this season. As for Wewahitchka, their loss was their third straight at home, which dropped their record down to 4-14.
Everything came up roses for Port St. Joe against the Gators in their previous meeting back in January as the squad secured a 65-33 victory. Does Port St. Joe have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Gators turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
