Chester is on a three-game streak of home losses, Roxana a four-game streak of away losses, but someone's luck is about to change. Having just played yesterday, the Chester Yellowjackets will get right back to it and host the Roxana Shells at 10:30 a.m. on December 28th. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.
Chester's game on Wednesday was all tied up 23-23 at the half, but sadly for them it didn't stay that way. They took a 61-51 hit to the loss column at the hands of Meridian.
Meanwhile, Roxana suffered a rough 49-24 loss at the hands of Richland County on Wednesday. While losing is never fun, Roxana can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Illinois basketball rankings (they are ranked 341st, while Richland County is ranked 63rd).
Despite their defeat, Roxana saw several players rise to the challenge and make noteworthy plays. Michael Silas, who scored six points, was perhaps the best of all. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Silas has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Evan Wells, who scored five points along with five rebounds.
Chester's loss dropped their record down to 3-9. As for Roxana, they have traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost five of their last six games, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-7 record this season.
Chester came up short against Roxana when the teams last played back in December of 2022, falling 51-47. Will Chester have more luck at home instead of on the road? Check MaxPreps after the match for a full breakdown of the game, commentary, and other basketball content.
