Pendleton County never got on the board in their matchup on Tuesday, but that sure wasn't the case in their game against Bath County on Wednesday. They never let the Chargers get on the board and left with an 11-0 win. The Wildcat might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won seven matchups by seven runs or more this season.
Chase Owens was a major factor while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run and allowing only two hits while striking out nine over five innings pitched. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in four consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, going 1-for-3 with one stolen base, one run, and one double.
In other batting news, Pendleton County got a massive performance out of Caleb Armentrout, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with three stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI. Those three stolen bases gave Armentrout a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Cole Harper, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with two RBI, one run, and one double.
Pendleton County always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .533. They are 6-1 when they post an OBP of .513 or better.
Pendleton County's victory ended a four-game drought at home and bumped them up to 9-14. As for Jefferson, their record is now 22-3-1.
