Strafford moved up to 123 from 152 in the state rankings this week, the biggest jump in Mid-Lakes. The Indians were able to make the jump by beating Fair Grove 42-0.
Skyline extended the longest winning streak in the league this week by beating Ash Grove, 66-7. The victory was the sixth in a row for the team.
Strafford's dynamic duo of Jacob Wade and Dallas Hester proved tough for the Eagles to stop, as they were the top passer and receiver in the league this week. Wade threw for 211 yards and three touchdowns and Hester had 101 yards receiving. Dalton Taylor helped Strafford's passing attack out by catching two balls for 62 yards.
Logan Allred was the most productive running back in the league this week. In seven carries, he ran for 99 yards as the Pirates topped Fair Grove. Austin Hurst also contributed to the rushing game with nine yards on the ground.
Kory Noe made the biggest impact on defense this week as the Indians beat Jason O'Neal's team. The 5-foot-11 defensive lineman grabbed two sacks.
Strafford's Wade and Hester have formed a dynamic duo this season, leading Mid-Lakes in both passing and receiving yards. Wade has thrown for 982 yards this season, while Hester, a 6-foot-0 receiver, has 16 catches for 365 yards. Ash Grove's Allred leads the league in rushing yards with 694.
The top two teams in the league will face off this week when first place Strafford takes on second place Skyline. The Indians bested the Eagles last week, while Skyline defeated Doug Martin's team.
