The Nottoway Cougars will head out on the road to square off against the Randolph-Henry Statesmen at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Hopefully Nottoway focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 22 on Friday.
Nottoway scored the most points they've had all season to find success. They came out on top against Prince Edward County by a score of 79-70. Having run the score up that high, both teams probably have some extra defensive drills coming up.
Anton Carter Jr. was his usual excellent self, almost dropping a double-double on 25 points and nine rebounds. He has been hot recently, having posted nine or more rebounds the last 13 times he's played. D'aunte Watson was another key contributor, almost dropping a double-double on nine points and 15 rebounds.
Meanwhile, Randolph-Henry's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Thursday after their third straight loss. They ended up on the wrong side of a rough 65-45 walloping at the hands of Buckingham.
Nottoway's win bumped their record up to 5-11. As for Randolph-Henry, their defeat dropped their record down to 6-9.
Nottoway couldn't quite finish off the Statesmen in their previous meeting back in January and fell 62-60. Can Nottoway avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
