The Carmel School is 1-7 against Grove Christian School since December of 2019 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Tuesday. The Carmel School Wildcats will be playing at home against the Grove Christian School Falcons at 4:30 p.m.
The Carmel School had to hit the road for their first game and sadly it wasn't the result they were hoping for. They were dealt a 64-18 defeat at the hands of Richmond Christian last Thursday. The Carmel School was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 39-11.
Meanwhile, after only 14 points in their last contest, Grove Christian School made sure to put some points up on the board against The New Community School on Saturday. Grove Christian School really took it to The New Community School for the full four quarters, racking up a 62-2 win on the road. With Grove Christian School ahead 38-2 at the half, the contest was all but over already.
Grove Christian School found their leader in underclassman Emily Hopkins, who dropped a double-double on 10 points and 11 steals. Hopkins is absolutely dominating the steal category: she's posted at least two every time she's taken the court this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Sidney Fisher, who scored 6 points along with 14 rebounds and 5 assists.
The Carmel School's defeat dropped their record down to 0-1. As for Grove Christian School, the win got them back to even at 2-2.
The Carmel School might still be hurting after the 37-11 defeat they got from Grove Christian School in their previous meeting back in February. Thankfully for The Carmel School, Elizabeth Lloyd (who dropped a double-double on 16 points and 12 rebounds) won't be suiting up this time. Will that be enough to change the final result?
