The Armwood Hawks entered their tilt with the Tampa Bay Tech Titans with four consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with five. Armwood took down Tampa Bay Tech 51-34 on Friday. This was one game where the offenses had no trouble playing at a high level.
Girard Pringle was his usual excellent self, rushing for 200 yards and three touchdowns. Pringle is on a roll when it comes to rushing touchdowns, as he's now punched in two or more in the last three games he's played. Olontae Dean also deserves a shout-out for his two touchdowns.
Tampa Bay Tech's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performance. Perhaps the best among them was Xzavier Jackson, who threw for 236 yards and three touchdowns while picking up 11.2 yards per attempt. The team also got some help courtesy of Dallas Wilson, who picked up 119 receiving yards and two touchdowns.
Armwood's victory was their third straight on the road, which bumped their overall record up to 8-1. They've been dominating during the matchups in that stretch too, as they've won by an average of 37 points. As for Tampa Bay Tech, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 8-2.
Armwood will be playing at home against Lennard at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Lennard will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Florida Rankings (they are ranked 332nd, while Armwood is ranked 22nd). Tampa Bay Tech does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
