Lincoln East had already proven themselves in the regular season and they didn't miss a beat now that it's playoff time. They never let the Papillion-LaVista Monarchs get on the board and left with a 6-0 victory on Friday. Considering the Spartans have won 15 matches by more than five runs this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.

The team relied heavily on Troy Peltz, who went 2-for-3 with two stolen bases, one run, and one RBI. Those two stolen bases gave him a new career-high.

The win was the tenth in a row for Lincoln East, bringing their record up to 30-3. The victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.6 runs on average over those games. As for Papillion-LaVista, their loss dropped their record down to 20-12.
