The Rauner Wildcats won the last time they faced the Baker Bobcats, and things went their way on Wednesday too. Rauner claimed a resounding 65-9 victory over Baker on the road. With Rauner ahead 34-5 at the half, the game was all but over already.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Rauner to victory, but perhaps none more so than Camar Russell, who scored 16 points along with 5 assists and 4 steals. Yahweh Anderson was another key contributor, scoring 17 points along with 3 steals.
The win got Rauner back to even at 1-1. As for Baker, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 0-2.
Rauner will head out on the road to face off against Hancock at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Baker, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Noble Street College Prep at 7:00 p.m. on Monday.
