A District 10 recap Sept. 26, 2012
Jo Byrns moved up to 194 from 221 in the state rankings this week, the biggest jump in A District 10. The Red Devils were able to make the jump by beating the Red Devils 40-6.
Houston County extended the longest winning streak in the league this week by beating Stewart County, 28-14. The victory was the fifth in a row for the team.
Nashville Christian's offense was tough to stop this week, as it produced the league's top passer, rusher and receiver. Michael Paszek threw for 25 yards and Cameron Clark had 17 yards receiving. On the ground Phillip Booker chipped in 208 yards. Booker helped Nashville Christian's passing attack out by catching one ball for nine yards.
Clarksville Academy's Jacob Rugen and Clay Goad have formed a dynamic duo this season, leading the league in both passing and receiving yards. Rugen has thrown for 775 yards this season, while Goad has 18 catches for 492 yards. Booker from the Eagles leads the league in rushing with 707 yards.
A big matchup in A District 10 this week will be when the Cougars take on White House-Heritage. Clarksville Academy is currently in second, while the Patriots are in fourth.
East Robertson and Harpeth played the most hotly contested game in the league this week, with East Robertson eventually emerging with a 28-27 victory.
