For the first time this season, Quincy will have a chance to prove themselves in a conference matchup. They are taking a road trip to square off against the Biggs Wolverines at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday. The two teams are sauntering into the matchup backed by comfortable wins in their prior games.
Quincy barely beat Chester the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Trojans' pitcher stepped up to hand the Volcanoes a 6-0 shutout on Tuesday. The Trojans not only won on Tuesday, but they posted their biggest win since March 22nd.

Jemma Trueblood made a splash while hitting and pitching. She didn't allow a single earned run while striking out eight over seven innings pitched. She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts any time she's pitched this season. She was also big at the plate, scoring a run while going 2-for-4.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Hana Hostetter, who went 2-for-4 with one home run, four RBI, and one double. Those four RBI gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Adrian Goulet, who scored a run and stole a base while going 1-for-1.
Quincy kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Chester only managed five hits.
Meanwhile, Biggs entered their tilt with Loyalton on Monday with seven consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with eight. They blew past the Grizzlies 20-2. The Wolverines might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won 12 matches by seven runs or more this season.
Like Quincy, Biggs also got a great game from a two-way player: Riley Harrison. On the mound, she struck out seven batters over five innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off three hits. Harrison was also solid in the batter's box, scoring two runs while going 2-for-4.
In other batting news, Biggs got a massive performance out of Arden Vines, who scored four runs and stole a base while going 3-for-3. Emma Bermudez was another key player, going 2-for-4 with three runs, four RBI, and one triple.
Biggs' victory was their eighth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 14-2-1. Those home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.8 runs on average over those games. As for Quincy, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 12-3.
Quincy beat Biggs 10-5 when the teams last played back in April of 2022. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Trojans since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
