The Mosley Dolphins will be taking part in a tournament against the West Rebels at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (Mosley 3.5, West 2.6) so any runs scored will be well earned.
West is facing Mosley at the wrong time: Mosley suffered their first home loss of the season on Tuesday and they're likely out for redemption. They lost 13-5 to the Bobcats. The pitching woes were uncharacteristic for the Dolphins, who until this game were averaging 3.45 runs allowed.
Mosley saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was CJ Harris, who went 1-for-4 with one triple and one run. That triple was Harris' first of the season.
Meanwhile, West strolled into their game on Wednesday with a perfect record and they left with the same. They were the clear victors by a 13-3 margin over Franklin County. That ten-run margin sets a new team best for the Rebels this season.
Brennan Mustard spent all six innings played on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered only one earned (and two unearned) runs on four hits and racked up seven Ks.
At the plate, the team relied heavily on Morgan Ferrell, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with four RBI, one triple, and one double. That's the most RBI he has posted since back in April of 2025. Brady Trent was another key player, going 2-for-4 with four RBI and one run.
West always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .513. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.
West's win bumped their record up to 5-0. As for Mosley, their defeat dropped their record down to 8-3.
The batters for both teams will have to hit smart on Thursday as both have some strikeout artists on the roster. Mosley has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 7.4 strikeouts per game. However, it's not like West struggles in that department as they've been averaging 8 strikeouts. Considering how easily both teams rack up Ks, the hitters on both teams better bring their A-game into this one. Check back here after the action for a full breakdown and analysis of the contest.
