Rocklin and Oak Ridge are an even 5-5 against one another since May of 2022, but likely not for long. The Thunder will be playing in front of their home fans against the Trojans at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (Rocklin 1.6, Oak Ridge 3.5) so any runs scored will be well earned.
On Thursday, Rocklin earned a 7-2 win over Folsom. The victory continues a trend for the Thunder in their matchups with the Bulldogs: they've now won four in a row.
Cat Alston made a big impact no matter where she played. On the mound, she tossed 6.1 innings while giving up just two earned runs off five hits. What's more, she posted four strikeouts, the most she's had since back in May of 2025. She was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-3 with two runs.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Addie Titlow, who went 3-for-5 with three RBI, two runs, and one triple. That's the most hits she has posted since back in March. Another player making a difference was Renee Dragseth, who went 2-for-4 with one run and one RBI.
Rocklin was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .400. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Folsom only posted a batting average of .250.
Meanwhile, Oak Ridge narrowly escaped with a win as the team sidled past Whitney 3-1. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Trojans have posted against the Wildcats since March 21, 2024.
Like Rocklin, Oak Ridge also got a great game from a two-way player: Kennedi Freeland. She didn't allow a single earned run over seven innings pitched. Freeland has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than two walks in three consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going 1-for-4 with one home run.
In other batting news, Emery Glaser was incredible, going 2-for-4 with one home run, two runs, and one stolen base. She is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as she's now snagged at least one in each of the last four games she's played. Arissa Jerrett was another key player, going a perfect 3-for-3 with one double.
Rocklin's win bumped their record up to 15-4. As for Oak Ridge, they now have a winning record of 9-8.
Rocklin got the 'W' in their previous matchup back in March against Oak Ridge by a conclusive 9-1 score. Do the Thunder have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Trojans turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
