After losing to Dixie the last time they met, Cedar decided to demonstrate that turnabout is fair play. The Reds sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 16-13 win over the Flyers on Friday. The Reds' victory was nothing new given the team hasn't lost yet this season.
Cedar can attribute much of their success to Everett Kelling, who threw for 160 yards and two TDs. Braxton Demille handled things on the ground, rushing for 81 yards.
Cedar's record now sits at 3-0. As for Dixie, they now have a losing record of 1-2.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Cedar will venture away from home to square off against Logan at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Dixie, they will head out to challenge Layton Christian Academy at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
