Basketball Recap: Clarion Area Sets Scoring Season-High Against Marion Center

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Clarion Area). They walked away with a 66-53 win over the Marion Center Stingers on Saturday. With that victory, the Bobcats brought their scoring average up to 51.4 points per game.

Nathan Frederick had a dynamite game for Clarion Area, putting up 18 points in addition to five assists and five rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Mason Burford, who dropped a double-double on ten points and 14 rebounds.

Clarion Area smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 13 offensive boards. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Marion Center only pulled down seven offensive rebounds.

Despite the loss, Marion Center still got an impressive performance from Cameron Pack, who went 6 of 14 on his way to 15 points and six assists. Pack is also on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed two or more in the last four games he's played. Another player making a difference was Ian Kutsch, who posted eight points.

Clarion Area's win bumped their record up to 6-3. As for Marion Center, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 3-6.

Clarion Area didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 42-35 victory against DuBois Central Catholic on the 7th. As for Marion Center, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next match, a 59-53 loss against River Valley on the 2nd.
