Central is 1-9 against Douglass since January of 2017 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Tuesday. The Central Falcons will head out on the road to face off against the Douglass Eagles at 7:00 p.m. Both teams come into the match bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Even though Potomac scored an imposing 77 points on Thursday, Central still came out on top. Central took their match against Potomac 84-77.
Central's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from John Bryan, who scored 24 points along with 5 assists and 3 steals. That makes it two consecutive games in which Bryan has scored at least 25% of Central's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Ariel Polonia, who dropped a double-double on 17 points and 13 rebounds.
Meanwhile, everything came up roses for Douglass on the road against College Park Academy on Thursday as the team secured a 68-35 victory.
The losses dropped Central to 1-1 and Potomac to 0-2.
Central was taken down by Douglass 78-40 in their previous meeting back in February. Can Central avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
