Basketball Recap: Rise Kohyang Takes Loss Despite Strong Efforts from Sidney Sellick and I Joey

Rise Kohyang was the 39-30 winner over Animo De La Hoya when they last played one another back in January, but their luck changed this time around. The Rise Kohyang Tritons fell 61-50 to the Animo De La Hoya Boxers on Tuesday. That's two games in a row now that the Tritons have lost by exactly 11 points.

Despite the defeat, Rise Kohyang had strong showings from I Joey, who posted 19 points along with five boards and five steals, and Sidney Sellick, who dropped a double-double on 16 points and ten rebounds. Joey's afternoon made it three games in a row in which he has scored at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Jared Lobato, who earned seven points along with seven rebounds and four steals.

Rise Kohyang now has a losing record at 2-3. As for Animo De La Hoya, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matches, which provided a massive bump to their 3-3 record this season.

Rise Kohyang didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 71-24 win against Smidt Tech on the 12th. As for Animo De La Hoya, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 46-39 victory against The School of Los Angeles on the 12th.
