It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact the First Assembly Christian Crusaders can now relate to. They had to suffer through a rough 56-28 loss at the hands of Middle Tennessee Christian. First Assembly Christian's defeat signaled the end of their three-game winning streak.
Middle Tennessee Christian got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Eli Wilson out in front who rushed for 247 yards and six touchdowns while picking up 9.1 yards per carry. Wilson is on a roll when it comes to rushing yards, as he's now rushed for 100 or more in the last four games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Yates Geren, who rushed for 143 yards and two touchdowns on only 15 carries.
First Assembly Christian's loss dropped their record down to 9-3. As for Middle Tennessee Christian, their win was their 11th straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 10-1.
First Assembly Christian does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Middle Tennessee Christian will head out on the road to face off against Columbia Academy at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The pair might be coming in a bit winded given how much these teams ran in their prior games.
