The Bethel Christian Academy Crusaders's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their fifth straight loss. They took a 42-26 bruising from Veritas Christian Academy. Bethel Christian Academy has not had much luck with the Warriors recently, as the team's come up short the last five times they've met.
Veritas Christian Academy found their leader in underclassman Aunica Tomlinson, who scored 17 points along with five rebounds and five steals. It was the first time this season that Tomlinson scored 15 or more points. Another player making a difference was Sloan Nichols, who scored six points along with six rebounds and three blocks.
Bethel Christian Academy dropped their record down to 4-10 with that loss, which was their fifth straight on the road. As for Veritas Christian Academy, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 13-6.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Bethel Christian Academy and the Raptors will face off at 6:00 p.m. on February 5th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. Lake Lure Classical Academy comes in on a streak of failing to score more than 23 points in their last ten games, a trend the squad is of course eager to reverse. As for Veritas Christian Academy, they will head out on the road to challenge the Eagles at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. Reynolds Mountain Christian Academy is coming into the game hot, having won their last six games.
