The St. Joseph Academy Crusaders will head out on the road to square off against the Pacific Ridge Firebirds at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Hopefully St. Joseph Academy is not getting complacent, as they presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Pacific Ridge in California (St. Joseph Academy is ranked 449th, while Pacific Ridge is ranked 1137th).
St. Joseph Academy unfortunately witnessed the end of their five-game winning streak on Friday. They were just a bucket shy of victory and fell 41-40 to Rock Academy.
The losing side was boosted by Angel Ochoa, who scored 22 points along with three steals. That was a full 55% of St. Joseph Academy's points, marking the 15th time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points. Dominick Gale was another key contributor, scoring four points along with five rebounds and three steals.
Meanwhile, Pacific Ridge strolled past Orange Glen with points to spare on Friday, taking the game 51-37.
St. Joseph Academy's defeat dropped their record down to 11-8. As for Pacific Ridge, their win bumped their record up to 5-15.
St. Joseph Academy came up short against Pacific Ridge in their previous matchup back in January of 2023, falling 59-47. Can St. Joseph Academy avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
