Moapa Valley extended the longest winning streak in IA Southern - Sunrise this week by beating Boulder City, 45-6. The victory was the seventh in a row for the team.
Moapa Valley took down the Eagles 45-6 last week, the largest margin of any game.
Thanks to the talents of Josh Repp and Conner Mortensen Brent Lewis' team has been able to do all sorts of things on offense. Repp leads the league in passing with 481 yards, while Mortensen has rushed for 964 yards this season. Sunrise Mountain's A'keem Ross leads the league in receiving yards with 378 on 30 catches.
The Pirates' Mortensen needs only 36 yards against Virgin Valley next week to surpass 1,000 rushing yards for the season.
A big matchup in the league this week will be when Moapa Valley takes on the Bulldogs. At the moment, the Pirates are in first, while Virgin Valley is in third.
Moapa Valley made the biggest jump in the national rankings this week, rising to 2,307 from 3,353. The improvement was the result of 45-6 victory over Boulder City last week.
