Point Loma lost a heartbreaker the last time they played Clairemont, but it's fair to say they got their revenge given the result of Thursday's contest. Ella Poulin was a major factor no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out six batters over four innings while giving up just two earned (and one unearned) runs off five hits. Poulin was even better at the plate, firing off two home runs and three RBI while going 2-for-4. Those two home runs gave her a new career-high.
In other batting news, Point Loma got a massive performance out of Annika Isaacson, who went 2-for-3 with one home run, two runs, and one stolen base. Leyton MacPherson was another key player, going a perfect 2-for-2 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs.
Point Loma was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .520. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .409 or higher in five consecutive matchups.
Meanwhile, Mar Vista lost 7-1 to Brawley on Tuesday. The loss continues a trend for the Mariners in their meetings with the Wildcats: they've now lost three in a row.

Everything went Point Loma's way against Mar Vista in their previous meeting on Saturday, as Point Loma made off with a 14-2 win. Will Point Loma repeat their success, or does Mar Vista has a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
